Located in the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village, this historic hotel was part of the late NBC News broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision for Big Sky Resort. The Huntley Lodge sits on the plaza at the base of the mountain, with the Explorer Lift just out the back door. In fact, on your first day of skiing, you can access the White Otter Lift and ski over to the base area to pick up your lift tickets. Just make sure you get exact directions on the best ski route back to your cabin, or you might end up too far down the mountain! Private vehicles are required for this location.

A two-story great room features two full-length sofas and a comfy armchair framing a wood-burning fireplace and large flat-screen TV for relaxing nights in, while a formal 8-seat dining table, set beneath an impressive cast-iron chandelier, allows families to gather around a home-cooked meal. From the main-level ski room, a private staircase leads to a groomed access trail for convenient ski access to Moonlight Basin or Big Sky Resort, giving each guest the freedom to hit the slopes, break for lunch, or start apres-ski at their leisure.
