Steamboat Intermediate Skiing

Over 40-percent, of Steamboat terrain labeled as “intermediate,” making it an ideal resort for blue square skiers. The intermediate terrain options feel endless on Steamboat’s 2, 965 acres. More experienced intermediate skiers looking to challenge themselves can easily opt to try a black diamond run, since intermediate and expert terrain intermingles throughout the entire mountain.

Steamboat Intermediate Terrain

The best Steamboat Intermediate Terrain can be found off of the Sunshine Express Lift. Hug the ridgeline along Tomahawk to Baby Powder for incredible views and a perfectly groomed cruiser. High Noon is also a great option for intermediates looking for long, sustained runs. Don’t miss Vagabond off of the Thunderhead Lift or Rainbow off of the Four Points Lift.  Intermediates looking for a little challenge should test their skills out on the Bar-Ue lift and Pony Express Lift.  Intermediates can enjoy Buddy’s Run and pop on and off shorter black diamond runs like Crowtrack or Triangle 3. Or they can try out advanced intermediate runs like Longhorn and Chaps, which are both blue square/black diamond runs.

Steamboat Ski Camps

Steamboat Springs offers a camp or clinic for every intermediate through advanced skier or snowboarder, and most of them are taught by one of Steamboat’s many resident Olympians. From Billy Kid Race Camp, to a Women’s Ski Camp also hosted by former Olympian Deb Armstrong, to a freestyle terrain park clinic, every on-hill style and interest can be explored and enhanced with Steamboat’s camps.
