    Steamboat Restaurants

Steamboat restaurants trend towards casual to upscale pub food, which is still largely casual. Comfort food, pub fare and Mexican are commonplace cuisine in Steamboat, and more often than not these restaurants have a rustic, Western ambiance to them. There are a handful of memorable fine dining experiences to be had, and the large variety of low-key pub restaurants provide families with lots of options.

    Steamboat Dining

There’s no shortage of high quality pub food in Steamboat, but the best of the best would have to include Rex’s American Grill and Bar, for its extensive (and affordable) menu featuring upscale pub food, comfort food, like brick oven pizza and gourmet mac-n-cheese, and burgers. Carl’s Tavern, on Yampa Avenue, is also a don’t-miss, this casual dining spot is inspired by Steamboat’s original ski jumper: Carl Howelson combines a friendly atmosphere with tasty gourmet comfort food, like brick oven pizza, mac-n-cheese, meatloaf, classic sandwiches, salads and soups, all with a little twist and quality ingredients. The signature cocktails should also be explored, as they too blend classic recipes with local, quality ingredients.

The Mahogany Ridge Brewery and Grill, on Lincoln Avenue, also serves up hearty, upmarket grub, at a reasonable rate. The appetizer menu is extensive and varied, making Mahogany Ridge a popular après ski and happy hour spot. Items range from eggplant hummus, to build-your-own-satay and giant twisted pretzels with housemade mustard and a dipping cheese sauce. The salad options are plentiful and there are sandwich and burger options (including vegetarian option) sure to excite every taste.  Plus it’s locally made craft beers will please diners looking for a brew to slate their thirst. Sweetwater Grill, on Yampa Avenue, offers lip smacking menu items like blackened chicken sandwich, black and bleu burger and bbq pulled pork sandwich, to name a few.

Old Town Pub and Restaurant boasts “the best burgers in the ‘Boat,” and with options like chili-rubbed burgers, bbq burgers and even homemade black bean, sweet potato veggie burgers, they very well may. Head on in to find your favorite burger, or build our own.
