Alpenhof provides full kitchens in their cabins, making it a great option for families or those on a budget who are looking to save some money by cooking meals in the unit. Family-owned and –operated, the Alpenhof Lodge is in the heart of it all—just steps from the Village at Mammoth and the Village Gondola. The lodge offers a slew of amenities, including a 24-hour front desk, a recreational room with games, like billiards, and onsite restaurants and bars—Petra’s Bistro and Wine Bar and the Clocktower Cellar Pub.

Mammoth has two great, and affordable Mexican joints, Jalapeño and Salsa’s, both located on Old Mammoth Road. For beers, apps and heartier fare, an après-ski meal or two are in order at Clocktower Cellar Pub in the Alpenhof Lodge. You’ll want to try the burgers—which are served on pretzel buns—or the pulled pork, and be sure to sample a couple items on Clocktower’s extensive whiskey list. Vegans and vegetarians will be pleased with Stellar Brew and Deli’s, on Main Street, healthy wraps and sandwiches.
