Everything about Wengen is charming – from the train ridedown into the village from the top of the Jungfrau, to the delightful Swisschalet-style hotels that line the streets. It’s a much smaller, more quaintresort, and in my opinion, would be a great fit for those who don’t really taketheir skiing too seriously. The village’s main street makes for a greatshopping stroll, and the views from every angle look straight out of apostcard. Since it’s a smaller resort, the terrain is quite a bit more limited,so more advanced skiers may struggle to find enough runs to entertain andthrill. However, for true intermediates, there are a lot of long, gentle runs(maybe not accessible during spring skiing, but definitely in the heart ofwinter!) that should be perfect. The town itself, as aforementioned, is full ofcharm – which makes it a fantastic choice for families as well as groups that havea mix of skiers and nonskiers.
