With more than 2,908 acres of terrain for all levels of skiers, a handful of world-renowned terrain parks and half pipes, and a state-of-the-art ski and snowboard school it becomes very clear as to why Breckenridge is one of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado. Beginner skiers can comfortably learn to ski at the base of Peak 8 and 9, while intermediates have their pick of pristine groomed runs at Breckenridge, as well as intermediate bowls from the new Peak 6 terrain. Expert skiers can ski challenging lines off of the summit of Peak, or get air on one of Breckenridge’s five world-class terrain parks. The terrain options for every skier are limitless on a Breckenridge ski vacation.
The half pipes and terrain parks in Breckenridge are world-renowned as being some of the best places to practice freestyle tricks and hit jumps. Some of the most decorated X Games athletes in history—like Bobby Brown, Simon Dumont, and Keri Herman—call Breckenridge home because of its first-rate terrain parks. It’s common to see professional skiers and snowboarders training in one of the five Breckenridge terrain parks.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, resort officials announce the Breckenridge Peak 6 expansion. The expansion will increase the skiable acres at Breckenridge by almost a quarter! As of the 2013-2014 ski season, a brand new high-speed, six-person chairlift and a fixed-grip chair will access 400 new acres of inbounds skiing and an additional 143 acres of hike-to terrain.
