Whitefish Ski Resort

If affordability and minimal crowds top your list of vacation “must haves,” then a Whitefish ski vacation is a no-brainer. Budget hotels and condos may dominate the Whitefish lodging options, but that doesn't mean Whitefish isn’t bursting with top-notch experiences and warm service. For example, Whitefish’s lack of crowds, which pervade Colorado, Utah and California ski resorts, give skiers and boarders the feeling like they have their own private mountain at this Montana ski area. Whitefish has a feeling of exclusivity—like it’s your own hidden treasure that you don’t want anyone else to ever discover. Plus, on a clear day, there’s no better place to take photos. The resort’s notorious Snow Ghosts—pine trees coated in fog and ice that resemble eerie figures—provide interesting photo opportunities that are unique to Whitefish.

Ski Whitefish Mountain

Few resorts can offer so much to every skier and boarder. Beginners have nearly the entire lower, looker’s left-hand side of the mountain. Whitefish also offers beginners backside access. Newbies can explore the Northside zone via Caribou trail, the lone green run in that area. And with Whitefish’s nominal crowds, first-time skiers can feel comfortable learning a new skill without worrying about passersby. Intermediates can access the entire mountain—the Frontside, Northside and Hellroaring Basin—providing them with nearly 1,500 acres to explore.  Freestyle skiers and snowboarders have two terrain parks to choose from between Chair 3, or Tenderfoot, and Heaven’s T-Bar.

Whitefish skiing offers experts incredible access as well, via all three zones: Frontside, Northside and Hellroaring Basin. Experts get to experience all of the terrain on the two backside areas, from the sustained glades in Northside’s Window Pane and the steep pitch on Bighorn. Those in search of extreme terrain will be pleased with Hellroaring Basin’s offering, especially Picture Chutes.

With so much terrain, so many affordable lodging options and an exclusive skiing experience, there are too many reasons to book your Whitefish Mountain Resort vacation right now. Speak or chat with one of our knowledgeable Mountain Vacation Specialists to start planning your
